The 2022 Ekiti governorship aspirants in both the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) have stormed Okemesi Ekiti, Ekiti West Local Government area on Saturday to honour Lere Olayinka, media aide to former Governor Ayo Fayose at the funeral service of his father.
Pa Iyanda Atenibiaje Olayinka died on October 7, 2021, at the age of 86.
The order of funeral service, which commenced with a service of songs on Friday evening, continued with a Church service on Saturday.
Dignitaries including political leaders from various parties converged on Okemesi, the hometown of the elder statesman to pay their last respect to the Pa Atenibiaje Olayinka.

The event was attended by the former governor of Ekiti State, Ayo Fayose, 2022 Ekiti governorship aspirants; Otunba Bisi Kolawole from PDP, Hon. Makinde Araoye from APC, Hon. Olawale Fapohunda SAN from APC, PDP State Working Committee, Member Ekiti State House of Assembly, Hon. Johnson Oyekola Bode-Adeoye and other equally important dignitaries graced the event.
Addressing the gathering at the event, Makinde Araoye said being a member of different political parties should not stop me from honouring the invitation of my brother Lere to his father’s burial. May Baba’s gentle soul continue to rest in perfect peace.
The young aspirant may likely obtain his governorship form on Monday, December 13 under the platform of APC.
