PCACC Engages Falana to Lead Prosecution of Ganduje in Dollar Video Case

The Kano Public Complaint and Anti-Corruption Commission (PCACC) has engaged Femi Falana (SAN) to lead its prosecution of former Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje in the alleged dollar video case.

The PCACC is working to prosecute Ganduje over a series of controversial videos released in 2017, which allegedly showed him accepting kickbacks from contractors.

Ganduje has denied the accusations and claimed that the videos have been manipulated.

Falana, a renowned human rights lawyer, is expected to lead the PCACC’s legal team in the case. He has a wealth of experience in handling corruption cases, and he is known for his aggressive prosecution of high-profile individuals.

The case was adjourned by the presiding judge, Justice A.M. Liman, on Friday. The counsel to the applicant, Dr. B. Hemba, informed the court that he was not ready to proceed with the case. He requested an adjournment to allow him to respond to the processes served to him.

The case was subsequently adjourned to July 25, 2023, for hearing.

The PCACC’s decision to engage Falana is a significant development in the case. Falana is a respected lawyer with a proven track record of success in corruption cases. His involvement in the case is likely to put pressure on Ganduje and his legal team.

The case is closely watched by Nigerians, who are eager to see justice served. If Ganduje is found guilty, it will be a major blow to his political career.
