The Ekiti State government, on Monday, announced the receipt of a tranche of the Paris Club refund to the general public.
In the announcement, the state said it had received N4.7 billion refund from the said fund.
According to a statement shared on the social media by the special assistant to Governor Ayodele Fayose on Public Communications and New Media, Mr. Lere Olayinka, on Monday, said the N4.7 billion would be shared between the state and the local governments.
Olayinka said: “Ekiti State has received N4.7billion as Paris Club refund to be shared between the state and the local governments. A total sum of N4,772,836,647.08 was received.”
The statement added that “Governor Fayose will meet with teachers, local government workers, Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), civil servants on how it will be spent soonest.”
