Painter jailed for stealing bibles and drinks from church
A painter who broke into a church and stole various items, including four bibles and 14 Caprisonne drinks, has been sentenced to two months in prison by a Grade I Area Court in Kabusa, Abuja.
The painter, Zakaraya Usman, 30, also took 124 church membership forms, 18 testimonial certificates, two bottles of water, security jackets, two shirts, two handkerchiefs, bags and some cash from the Living Faith Church, Durumi I branch.
The theft was reported to the Durumi Police Station by the church’s Chief Security Officer, David Usman.
The court heard that all the stolen items were recovered from Usman during the police investigation.
Usman admitted to the charge and was given an option of paying a N10,000 fine. The judge, Abubakar Sadiq, warned him not to repeat the offence or face a harsher punishment.
