Arsenal midfielder, Mesut Ozil, is now the second-highest-paid player in the Premier League after he signed a new deal with the club.
Ozil’s previous contract was set to expire in June, but he has agreed to terms on a bumper three-and-a-half-year deal worth £300,000 per week.
He is only second to former Arsenal team-mate, Alexis Sanchez, who moved to Manchester United this month.
Sanchez is believed to have signed a £300,000-per-week contract at Old Trafford.
Until January 31, the Premier League’s well-paid stars were mostly from the two Manchester clubs.
The top 20 best-paid players have seen some shifts and changes in the past month, with Philippe Coutinho who was formerly in the top 10 now at Barcelona.
