A fire outbreak has destroyed part of the residence of Dr. Abdulahi Ganduje, the outgoing Governor of Kano state, located at Miyangu Street in Nassarawa GRA Kano.
The incident happened on Monday night and was confirmed by the State Fire Service on Thursday
According to the Public Relations Officer of the State Fire Service, Saminu Abdullahi, the fire was brought under control by the firefighters who arrived at the scene shortly after it started.
Sources said that the fire originated from a place where Ganduje rears cows and that many of the animals perished in the inferno. Other valuable property were also razed by the fire.
The cause of the fire was not immediately known but it was suspected to be related to metal welding work that was going on in the house as part of the renovation to make it suitable for Ganduje’s residence after leaving office.
