Osun Accountant General, Mr Alaba Kolawole has resigned in the midst of controversies surrounding the alleged diversion of N11.5bn Paris Club fund secretly released to Osun State by the Federal Government into the All Progressives Congress (APC) campaign for the State governorship election.
The Accountant General has already written to all the states’ banks notifying them that effective from Monday September 10th, he would cease to be the Accountant General of the state of Osun.
A source told WazobiaReporters that “the sudden resignation may not be unconnected with the unusual instructions by Governor Rauf Aregbesola for the disbursement of billions of Naira from the State treasury for the election of his stooge, Gboyega Oyetola.
“The controversial governor had earlier on approved unusual extension of service for the Accountant General, whose last day in office was supposed to be July 31st, 2018.
“The Governor’s plan is to hold on to the Accountant General until he leaves office to keep his secrets.
“However, the Accountant General became lukewarm towards release of fund because of the implication on his career.
“The last straw was the N11.5bn Paris Club refund, which was supposed to be used for payment of outstanding salaries of workers but was diverted into the APC campaign fund.”
APC Osun looting the state while the masses are suffering.
