Oshiomohole Anoints Akume, Next Senate President
Adams Oshiomhole, All Progressives Congress (APC), National Chairman on Saturday anointed Senator George Akume, former governor of the state as the President of the next Senate.
Represented by Kashim Imam, Oshiomhole also vowed that Samuel Ortom, Benue State governor would be picked up by relevant authorities as soon as his immunity expires as state governor on May 29th, over allegations of N23 billion embezzlement.
He made the statement in Makurdi during the official flag-off of Jime/Ode Gubernatorial campaign for the March governorship elections, even as Senator Akume went on his kneels to beg the people of the state for presenting to them, state governor, Samuel Ortom in 2015.
Also speaking at the occasion, the governorship candidate of the APC in the state, Emmanuel Jime who described Ortom as a ‘conman’ promised that he would not hide under the guise of religion to deprive the people of the state of their rightful privileges.
