Ortom, Wike, Makinde, Others Take Decision On Defection
Ortom noted that Wike is a big factor who remained in PDP when he and Atiku left the party for the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom, on Thursday, revealed that the aggrieved governors and others have taken a decision over the crisis rocking the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP).
Ortom made the decision known on Thursday and said the aggrieved governors have decided to remain in the main opposition party.
Ortom, who recently returned to Nigeria, disclosed that he met with the Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike, Seyi Makinde of Oyo State and others over the differences in the party ahead of the 2023 general elections.
Governor Wike is not pleased with the decision of the PDP presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar to pick the Governor of Delta State, Ifeanyi Okowa as his running mate.
Ortom, who had condemned Atiku for ignoring Wike, said he and his aggrieved colleagues have agreed to remain in PDP.
He, however, called on Atiku to reach out to Governor Wike for reconciliation.
Ortom noted that Wike is a big factor who remained in PDP when he and Atiku left the party for the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The Benue State Governor stated that it is not too late to resolve the crisis in the PDP.
Ortom added that once Wike is pacified, he is also pacified. He said during the meeting they agreed that Governor Wike needs to be pacified.
