Ondo Senator gives employment letters to over 300 graduates

The Senator representing Ondo Central Senatorial District in the National Assembly, Senator Ayo Akinyelure, has secured employment for over 200 graduates to his constituency.

Akinyelure, the Chairman of the Senate Committee on Ethics, Privileges and Public Petitions said this on Wednesday while giving a report of his over two years stewardship in the Senate to the leadership of Ondo Central.

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) senator also disclosed that over N300m had been disbursed to some members of the Constituency as soft loan through NIRSAL Micro-Finance Bank at a low-interest rate of 5%, where beneficiaries are doing well in whatever businesses they had embarked upon with the loan.

The lawmaker spoke at the event held at his Constituency Office, Akure, said he found it necessary to report back to the people who sent him on an errand.

“If you send your child to school, you are expected to see his report sheet at the end of the term and that is exactly what I am doing today,” Akinyelure told the party leaders across the six Local Government Areas of Ondo Central.

In the area of employment, Akinyelure told the PDP leaders that he had so far secured employment for over 200 graduates since his inauguration as a Senator in the 9th Assembly.

Speaking further, the “Excavator” of Ondo Central politics said he had been remitting money to the party secretariat to sustain the parry since he got elected into the National Assembly as well as place some group of people and some individuals on his payroll as a way of giving back to the platform that sent him to National Assembly to represent them.

Meanwhile, shortly after giving his report of his stewardship, Mr Employment, as fondly called by his colleagues in the National Assembly, gave another round of over 300 employment letters to some graduates.

Presenting the letters to these beneficiaries, who included APC members, Akinyelure said,

“What I am giving you today will last you for 35 years in service or 60 years of age, whichever one is earlier and I want you to use this opportunity as federal civil servants to take care of yourself, your parents and your siblings,” Akinyelure admonished the beneficiaries.

One of the beneficiaries, Mr Adekola from Akure North, who spoke on behalf of almost 20 APC members that benefitted said,

“I am most grateful for this opportunity. See what Akinyelure had given me after four years of searching for a job.

“Though I am an APC member, like my colleagues here, but he should be rest assured that he would get my vote and that of my entire household if he comes out for third term ticket,” the Adekola said openly.

Akinyelure further announced at the event that those whose names did not appear on the employment list should register their CVs with the staff in the Constituency office, as he promised that another round of employment letters would be brought to Ondo State before the end of January 2022.
