Ondo PDP Guber Primaries Update: Voting Begins as 2,111 Delegates Accredited
Voting has begun at the ongoing shadow election of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Ondo State.
The voting process commenced shortly after the 2,111 delegates across the 18 Local Government Areas of the state had been accredited.
As at press time, only three local governments, Ondo West, Ondo East and Ose had voted with 15 more to go.
Meanwhile, the Governor of Enugu State, Ifeanyi Ugwanyi who is presiding over the primaries as the Chairman of the Primary Election Committee had before the voting began assured the agents of the aspirants of a free and fair exercise.
While expressing satisfaction with the process, Ugwanyi urged the delegates to abide by the instructions of the committee for a hitch-free exercise.
The eight gladiators that will be looking up to the delegates were all present at the Dome, venue of the primaries.
The aspirants are, the embattled Deputy Governor of Ondo, Agboola Ajayi who recently defected from the ruling APC to PDP, A former Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Eyitayo Jegede, Dr Bode Ayorinde, Prince Godday Erewa, Dr Eddy Olafeso, Mr Banji Okunomo, Sola Ebiseeni and Senator Boluwaji Kunlere.

Meanwhile, the outcome of the primaries had been predicted by political observers to be a tight race among the two leading aspirants who are Ajayi, Jegede.
The two top aspirants command large support base of PDP members across the three senatorial district of the state. One of them among the six other aspirants will no doubt win the primaries.
Whoever emerges the winner in today’s primaries will be confronting Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu who emerged the winner of the APC primaries on Monday as well as other candidates of other parties.
