Ondo Guber: PDP disqualifies two aspirants
The chairman of the screening panel and former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara, made this known at the end of the exercise.
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on Friday, July 3, has disqualified two of its nine aspirants jostling to clinch its ticket for the gubernatorial election
The chairman of the screening panel and former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara, made this known at the end of the exercise.
“Unfortunately, two of our aspirants did not pass the litmus test,” Mr Dogara told journalists.
He stated that the disqualified candidates could go to the appeal panel if they feel unsatisfied.
Meanwhile, The National Working Committee (NWC) of the party, has appointed the Rivers State Governor, Chief Nyesom Wike as the Chairman of Edo State Governorship Election National Campaign Council.
The Party also appointed the Adamawa State Governor, Rt. Hon. Ahmadu Fintiri as the deputy chairman.
The PDP candidate in the election, Godwin Obaseki, won the primary election unopposed after his opponents stepped down.
