A few days to the Ondo State governorship election, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has commenced distribution of sensitive materials to various local government areas across for Saturday’s election.
Roads leading to the Akure office of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) were condoned off.
There was heavy security inside the CBN and in the roads leading to the bank.
Party officials were present to monitor the distribution.
Meanwhile, Nigerian’s President, Muhammadu Buhari, on Wednesday, has urged the Ondo State electorates to turn out en masse to vote on Saturday without fear of molestation, saying the election will be peaceful, transparent and credible.
The president said that all necessary measures have been put in place to ensure that Saturday’s election in Ondo is peaceful, transparent and credible.
In a statement released on Wednesday in Abuja by the president’s spokesman, Femi Adesina, said the president gave the assurance of electorate in Ondo of the provision of adequate security to forestall any breach of the peace by unscrupulous elements.
The President urged them to turn out en masse to vote on Saturday without fear of molestation.
He expressed confidence that the party supporters would vote in accordance with the laws guiding the electoral process.
