The Governorship candidate of the Social Democratic Party, SDP, in the recently held election in Osun State, Senator Iyiola Omisore has reinstated that the coalition that his party entered with the ruling All Progressives Congress , APC,is for the attainment of good governance for the entire people of the state and not for political gains.
Omisore, a former deputy governor of the state who made this known on his twitter handle said that the coalition is to ensure prompt payment of workers’ arrears, salaries, and pensions by the APC led administration.
Recall that Omisore had teamed up with the candidate of the APC (now the governor-elect), Alhaji Gboyega Oyetola and his party to win the governorship poll.
There had been speculations that Omisore had been denied the National Assembly ticket and other political offices allegedly promised him by the APC.
But the former senator dismissed the speculations that he entered into an agreement with the ruling party for personal political benefits saying there was no time SDP demanded any political office from APC.
Rather, the interest of the masses of Osun is utmost in the mind of the SDP and thus the coalition.
Omisore said: “Our coalition is not about negotiation for political offices like Senator, member House of Representatives, member House of Assembly or Commissioners and advisers, or board members but centres on good governance, prompt payment of workers’ salaries and other things that can make life meaningful for the entire people of Osun.”
