Obi Cubana regains freedom after 3 days in EFCC custody
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has released the popular socialite Obinna Iyiegbu, popularly known as Obi Cubana after three days in their custody.
The Anambra-born club owner, who was arrested on Monday, breathed the air of freedom on Thursday evening.
Obi Cubana was detained for alleged money laundering and tax fraud.
The EFCC spokesman, Wilson Uwujaren, confirmed to our correspondent that Cubana had been released.
During his stay with the EFCC, he was quizzed several times over his alleged involvement in money laundering and tax fraud.
Obi Cubana was the talk of the town in July during the burial celebration of his late mother.
The socialite was gifted over 200 cows and lots of celebrities and politicians were in attendance.
Most Nigerians have questioned the source of the socialite wealth while others have tagged him as a businessman who works for his money.
