Nurse Inductee Found Dead After Nightclub Party in Ibadan
A shocking tragedy befell a young lady, Boluwatife Omoniyi, who had just achieved her dream of becoming a nurse. She was found dead in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital, after attending a nightclub party to celebrate her induction into the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria.
The incident happened two days after her induction ceremony, which was held at the Lead City University, Ibadan, where she graduated from. Her mother had travelled from Port Harcourt, the Rivers State capital, to witness her daughter’s joyous occasion .
However, her joy turned into sorrow when she learnt that her daughter had gone missing after going out with some friends to a nightclub on Wednesday night. Her body was later discovered on Thursday morning with some parts mutilated .
The motive behind the gruesome murder is still unknown, but some sources suspect that it might be related to ritual killing or organ harvesting. The police have launched an investigation into the case and are yet to make any arrests .
The death of Omoniyi has sparked outrage and grief among her family, friends, colleagues and the general public. Many have taken to social media to express their condolences and demand justice for the slain nurse .
The Lead City University has also issued a statement to commiserate with the bereaved family and condemn the barbaric act. The university’s Public Relations Officer, Dr. Sola Owolabi, confirmed that the incident did not occur within the premises of the university and that Omoniyi had graduated from the institution .
He said that the university was saddened by the loss of one of its alumni and hoped that the perpetrators would be brought to book .
