Nigeria’s National Grid Recovers from Temporary Outage, TCN Says

On Monday, the national grid of Nigeria suffered a temporary collapse that affected the power supply in most parts of the country.

The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) announced that the grid collapsed around 1.49 pm on Monday, but it was able to restore it within a short time.

According to a statement by TCN spokesperson Ndidi Mbah, the grid was fully restored by Tuesday, except for the Jos axis, which was expected to have power supply within an hour.

Mbah said that TCN was working hard to ensure the stability and reliability of the grid and apologized for any inconvenience caused by the outage.

The cause of the grid collapse was not disclosed, but TCN assured the public that it was investigating the incident and would implement measures to prevent a recurrence.

TCN also thanked the government, the power sector stakeholders, and the customers for their support and cooperation.
