Nigeria’s largest drinks company sacked staff for celebrating Tinubu’s victory
Trade Pot investment Ltd, one of the leading drinks sellers in Nigeria, has allegedly sacked a female worker for celebrating the victory of Asiwaju Bola Tinubu.
Newsflash Nigeria had reported that Bola Tinubu had been declared the winner of Nigeria’s Presidential Election of February 25, 2023, by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
The February 25 presidential election in which Nigeria’s electoral body became roiled in widespread criticisms and calls for it to cancel the polls.
The irregularities tainted the presidential polls that gave Bola Tinubu of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) victory with 8.8 million votes ahead of his rivals, Atiku Abubakar of PDP with 6.9 million votes and Peter Obi of Labour Party with 6.1 million votes.
But a lady identified as Olanike Jimoh who celebrated the victory of Tinubu after being declared the winner by INEC was allegedly sacked by the Trade Pot Investment Ltd.
Olanike Jimoh was a high-flying staff of Trade Pot Investment Ltd, one of Nigeria’s largest drinks sellers.
Though Newsflash Nigeria yet confirmed the reason for sacking Olanike Jimoh by Trade Pot Investment Ltd, she alleged that celebrating Tinubu’s victory caused relieved her.
One of her Jimoh friends, @Irebamiolakanm1 posted on her Twitter handle, wrote: I can’t believe @olanike_jimoh lost her job because she celebrated BAT and bloggers fed on it.
“Trade Pot investment Ltd, one of the leading drinks sellers in Nigeria, sacked one of us because she celebrated Asiwaju’s win. All because a blogger fed on it…The owner, a staunch Peter Obi supporter, decided to take it up and sacked the girl.
@olanike_jimoh is said to be one of the leading staff in the said company as explained here. https://t.co/YQNzDnudLB

Another friend of Ms. Jimoh also wrote: “He lied that she sacked her based on no performance. But here is the girl in the second position of the most performing staff. Her name is number 2 on the list,” tweeted @fattylincorn_01, a friend of Ms. Jimoh.
Jimoh herself has been retweeting posts of various persons who have described her sack as unjust and political. There is one image of Jimoh celebrating Bola Tinubu’s victory and other pictures of her enjoying her time as a Sales Rep of Trade Pot.
“The company she was working with sacked her because she supported Asiwaju during the election and made a post celebrating his win when Asiwaju was declared as winner,” says Qasim.
“This doesn’t make sense. Why sack her because of her political choice or for not supporting your candidate? Some of you are worse than the people you hate. I hope @olanike_jimoh sues and also gets the relevant authorities to look into it,” tweeted @jidethetog.
