Nigerians react to Tinubu reading January newspaper in October
Nigerians have reacted to the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congres (APC), Bola Tinubu, over a viral photo showing him reading a January 2022 newspaper in October 2022.
Newsflash Nigeria understands that Tinubu had posted a photo of himself earlier on the microblogging platform, Twitter reading a newspaper.
In a photo shared on his Twitter page, Tinubu, who was decked in a suit and tie, was seen reading a newspaper. “Staying focused,” the former governor captioned the photo.

Tinubu’s photo which is perceived to be an attempt by the presidential hopeful to dispel rumours about his health status has since generated a barrage of reactions on social media.
Netizens with the ‘big eye’ were able to detect that the newspaper in Tinubu’s hand as seen in the photo he shared, was printed in January 2022.
However, the photo-generated several reactions online, with many social media users claiming that the picture was not recent as Tinubu was holding a January edition of the newspaper.
Joining the host of others in making a mockery of the presidential candidate, Reno Omokri on Thursday afternoon wrote: “This story was published on January 23, 2022. First an old video of your riding an exercise bike. Now, an old photo of your reading ab outdated newspaper? Bola, you should definitely fire the propagandist handling your Twitter account.”
This Photo Serves As A Disappointment To Those Who Think PDP Is Divided
In a different post on the microblogging platform, Omokri shared a photo of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) stakeholders, including governors and the party’s presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar.
Reacting to a side of the photo which shows the Governor of Benue State, Samuel Ortom, kneeling to communicate with Atiku, Omokri said the scene serves as a disappointment to those who presumed that the opposition camp is divided.
See the photo below:
The former presidential aide tweeted: “I love how Governor Samuel Ortom respected the next President of Nigeria (God willing). This photo serves to disappoint those who think PDP is divided. We are one united, happy family, as everyone will soon see! #PresidentAtiku will be a reality, God willing!
The African Action Congres presidential candidate, Omoyole Sowore, said Nigerians won’t be swayed by photo ops anymore and that Nigerians now know better after President Muhammadu Buhari, allegedly used the same method.
Sowore maintained that with Buhari’s antecedent, Nigerians won’t be deceived by photo ops.
“The era of using photo ops to deceive and fleece unsuspecting citizens has passed! Thanks to
@MBuhari, who scammed with these bogeys, Nigerians can’t be fooled by these old antiquated gimmicks and antics by @officialABAT handlers. Nigerians won’t be governed by photographs anymore,” he wrote on his Twitter page.
