Nigerians react to Archbishop of Canterbury’s visit to Buhari
Nigerians on social media, particularly Facebook, have reacted to Archbishop of Canterbury, Justin Welby’s visit to President Muhammadu Buhari at the Abuja house in London.
The Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina had earlier issued a statement announcing the visit.
Newsflash247, however, observed that the visit of Britain’s top cleric to Buhari generated mixed reactions from Nigerians on social media.
While many Nigerians were happy that his health condition has improved, many are of the opinion that that the President has no business in London no matter his health condition.
Some also called on the Archbishop to prevail on him to resign due to his ill health.
Below are some of the reactions from Nigerians:
Egbe Ebirien in his reaction to the visit said: “God Almighty has healed our president PMB. In the Bible, the king after Gods heart David was I’ll to the point of death and God healed him. See the reason for Psalm 41.
“Most of the persons expressing negative wishes now, who profess the Christian faith are doing same with their likes in David’s time. But God will put them to shame and deliver PMB for the sake of the righteous.”
On his part, Jude Ekwedike noted that: “Thank God that he is recovering. He does look very frail. Again, I would strongly urge him to resign and focus on his health. Is it really worth it? Is power more valuable than life?
“The burden of leading a complicated and cantankerous country like Nigeria can kill a man, let alone, a sickly and fragile old man. It is not fair to him, it is not fair to Nigerians.
“What’s the point of his continued leadership under this situation if not to satisfy some ethnic/tribal interests and the cabal that holds sway? It nullifies and contradicts the mantra of ‘One Nigeria’ and the so touted unity we are all supposed to embrace,” he said.
Opeoluwa Elisha Ademoyegun said: “Nauseating, idiotic and gibberish write-up! Look at how you just descended so low because of money and position.Cant believe this is the same Femi Adesina I use to read his write-up at the back of the Sun Newspaper.
“You have turn yourself to be a political tool in the hands of Hausa/Fulani hegemony. Shame on you,”
Right Ndom Uchechukwu: “No wonder Islam is taking over the world gradually, with these crooks called Deacon Femi Adesina, Pastor Osinbajo, and Archbishop of Canterbury etc. people who play politics with their fate, will people doubt the music when the question the authenticity of the Christian fate?”
Samuel Samigee: “Who are all these educated illiterates when the vice President visited Mr President in London that is supposed to be one of the most important visit and yet there was no video evidence, when governors and other top officials visited no video evidence now archbishop Welby no video evidence a President that seems to be looking very strong on photos and cannot receive guest on videos and no message for Nigerians.
“Honestly, the greatest mistake that was ever made is to marry us together with all these animals call Fulani’s or Hausa’s who begs to be giving considerations in primary schools leaving certificates and other examination levels and yet they say they are the most qualified and must be ruling by Force when in the real sense they are the lowest in intellectual we’re tired of all this and the opera in the country now says it all.”
Ifeanyi Maduako: “The So-called Archbishop is Partisan; and, has been playing politics with Buhari for many years.
“If he is really a man of God, he should advice his friend to resign so that he can relax in UK for even 2yrs to attend to his health. Life is the most important thing.
“The pressure of the office of the President sf Nigeria complicates and compounds his health challenges. General Buhari was relatively healthy compared to President Buhari. Health is wealth.”.
Engr George Odede: “When will you stop#Deceiving Nigerians? Your believe one day will be judged one day by God or is it pictures your people want to eat. #Buhariis a divisionism.”
Fagbemi Ebenezer Dele: “Buhari will survive this trial period in his life every evil tides shall fail, nobody has authority over his life, hence all that wish him dead shall go before him.”
Stanley Obinna Nwajeri: “Can the Arc bishop advice a British sick premier
minister to remain in power? If truly they are friends I know he would have advice this sick man to return to nursing home.
“We play politics with everything that’s why Nigeria is still sick. I pray for your recovery Mr president but it’s time for you to let go.”
