Naira Marley, Sam Larry Remanded in Custody for 21 Days Over Mohbad’s Death
The magistrate court in Yaba, Lagos State, has ordered that Azeez Fashola, popularly known as Naira Marley, and Lagos socialite Balogun Eletu, also known as Sam Larry, be remanded in custody for 21 days.
The duo are being investigated by the Lagos State Police Command in connection with the death of Ilerioluwa Aloba, also known as Mohbad, who was a former signee of Naira Marley.
The Lagos State Police Command had sought a 30-day remand for Fashola and the others to complete their ongoing investigation.
However, Magistrate Adeola Olatunbosun ruled that a 21-day remand would suffice. The magistrate also granted the police permission to conduct a DNA test on the suspects to ascertain their involvement in the case.
Mohbad was found dead in his apartment on September 25, with signs of strangulation and torture. The police suspect that he was killed by some of his associates over a business deal gone wrong.
Naira Marley, who had left the country shortly before the incident, returned on October 2 to “assist” in the investigation. Sam Larry, who is a close friend of Naira Marley, was also arrested by the police for questioning.
