N-Power Batch C1 Programme Completed, NASIMS Assures Payment After Investigation

The National Social Investment Management System (NASIMS), the platform that coordinates the social investment programmes of the federal government, has announced that the N-Power Batch C1 programme has been successfully completed.

NASIMS also assured that all eligible beneficiaries will be paid their allowances after the conclusion of an ongoing investigation.

NASIMS made this announcement on its official Facebook page on Friday, November 3.

It explained that the investigation was necessary to resolve the failed payment issues that affected some of the beneficiaries.

It said: “N-Power C1 programme has successfully been completed. Only those with failed payment issues will be considered. Essence of Investigation.”

It also appealed to the beneficiaries to be patient and wait for the outcome of the investigation.

It said: “All eligible (N-Power) beneficiaries will be paid upon conclusion of the ongoing investigation. Please be patient.”

The N-Power scheme is one of the social investment programmes of the federal government that aims to provide jobs and skills to unemployed graduates.

The Batch C1 programme started in October 2022 and involved 510,000 beneficiaries who were supposed to receive N30,000 monthly stipend for one year.

However, the programme was suspended in October 2023 and an investigation was launched to address the payment issues.

Some of the beneficiaries claimed that they had not received their stipends for the past eight months and appealed to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to intervene.

The national publicity secretary of the N-Power Batch C1 group, Gbadebo Adesiyan, said the non-payment of stipends had caused immense hardship to thousands of unemployed graduates.
