The current world record for the longest lecture marathon was set by Arvind Mishra, an Indian lecturer who taught scientific computation at Graphic Era University in Dehradun, India, from March 1 to 7, 2014.
He lectured for 139 hours, 42 minutes and 56 seconds, breaking the previous record of 121 hours and 15 minutes held by another Indian lecturer.
To break the record, the Nigerian lecturer will have to follow some rules set by Guinness World Records, such as having at least 10 students present at all times, taking a five-minute break every hour, and providing evidence of his lecture content and duration.
If he succeeds, he will not only make history but also inspire many students and educators around the world with his passion and dedication for teaching and learning. We wish him all the best in his quest!
