Many feared dead as bus plunges into river in Ondo
Many have been reportedly feared dead on Sunday as an 18-seated bus was plunged into the Owena River along Akure-Ondo road in Ondo State.
According to an eyewitness account, the bus was commuting from Ondo to Akure but lost control as a result of over speeding and fell off the bridge into the Owena River.
Newsflash Nigeria gathered that the rescue operation is ongoing at Aponmo village near Akure in search of passengers of an 18-seater bus, which plunged into the Owena river.
The Sector Commander of Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in Ondo State, Ahmed Hassan confirmed the incident to newsmen.
He said the agency has sent in rescue team from its Ondo town Unit Command and Zebra Unit in Akure.

It was learnt that six passengers have been rescued while four have been pulled out dead.
Witnesses said rocks at the bottom of the river might be responsible for the deaths due to impact.
Spokesman for the Ondo FRSC, Abiola Fadumo, who confirmed the accident said rescue operation was ongoing.
He promised to give updates soon.
