Lockdown: Pastor Charges Church Members for Watching Online Services

Following the countries across the globe to lockdown their country in order to battle the spread of Covid-19, otherwise known Coronavirus, the controversial pastor came up with another way to help his followers watch his sermons – for a price.

The Founder and the General Overseer of the Enlightened Christian Gathering (ECG), Prophet Shepherd Bushiri, has ordered his Church members to pay some amount before they can watch him online for church services.

Prophet Shepherd Bushiri is not letting the Coronavirus get in his way of preaching and the controversial pastor came up with another way to help his followers watch his sermons – for a price, that is.

The Enlightened Christian Gathering (ECG) leader launched an app called Major 1 Connect. The app has already been downloaded over 10,000 times on Google Play and TimesLIVE reported it costs subscribers R80 (N1,650.17) a month to use it.

According to the church on Facebook, during Bushiri’s last live sermon, 7000 Major 1 Connect users tuned in to watch him deliver the word of God.

A further six million worldwide allegedly used live broadcasts on Prophet Channel TV, YouTube and Facebook to watch the sermon.

ECG said it expects more than 25000 people to use the app to watch the next service.

Take a look at the church’s post below: The self-proclaimed prophet has received backlash over the past couple of weeks for trying to get money from people.

The accusations came after Bushiri asked South Africans to still give their offerings and tithes despite his church being closed due to the lockdown.

INNOVATIVE PROPHET BUSHIRI LAUNCHES ECG ONLINE CHURCH: OVER 6 MILLION PEOPLE JOIN WORLDWIDE

—————————

Prophet Shepherd Bushiri, on Sunday, the 19th of April, 2020, launched the Enlightened Christian Gathering (ECG) online church services and over 6 million people joined it worldwide.

The move is an intelligent and timely response to the suspension of physical church meetings due to the raging COVID-19 pandemic.

Prophet Bushiri explains how his online church works.

“ECG Church Members and followers across the world become part of the church services through subscribing to Major 1 Connect, an Application which helps them joining the video conferencing hosted by Prophet Bushiri in his studios in South Africa.

“Through the video conferencing, those connected are able to interact with the Prophet, just like a normal physical church gathering. They are able to talk with the Prophet and, most important of it all, to pray with him as their number one prayer partner.

“The video conference is then broadcasted LIVE on Prophetic Channel Tv, You Tube, Facebook and Twitter handle of the church,” said Prophet Bushiri.

During the launch on Sunday about 7 000 connected directly through Major 1 Connect and over 6 million joined through connecting with live broadcasts on Prophet Channel Tv, You Tube and Facebook.

More than 25 000 people are expected to connect directly through Major 1 Connect in the coming service.

The ECG Church is happy with the innovation as it provides a platform of praise and worship that is safe, one that keeps people in their homes, in the wake of COVID-19.

“The live church services broadcasting will be conducted every Monday Diplomatic, Friday Midweek services from 20:00 CAT and Sunday Service from 10:00 in the morning,” Bushiri said.

The Major 1 Connect Application can be found on AppStore and Google Store.
