The concluding edition of voting in five of the six states where governorship elections were declared inconclusive by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
It’s no crime if you didn’t know elections hold today; actually, they’ve dragged on for far too long for us to still be talking voting on March 23, having watched INEC postpone the original elections by one week at the death, and having witnessed poor voter turnout in the exercises when they eventually held.
At the end of the March 9 governorship elections, INEC declared the process inconclusive in six states: Adamawa, Bauchi, Benue, Kano, Plateau and Sokoto.
In Bauchi, though, there is a court order forbidding voting and collation of results in Tafawa Balewa Local Government Area, meaning there are no guarantees yet that a winner will emerge.
