Live on Air, Arrested on Set: Uproar as Police Storm Radio Station in Abia

Imagine a live radio show buzzing with vibrant youth voices, then, boom! The door breaks open, cops burst in, and drag off a guest mid-sentence. This wasn’t a dramatic script; it was reality at Umuahia’s ABN Radio/TV on Tuesday.

Mr. Udensi Donald, live on the “Youth Rendezvous” program, found himself in an unwanted spotlight – under arrest. The officers, brandishing badges but mum on the reason, sparked chaos. Viewers watched in a viral video as ABN staff and guests pleaded, demanding transparency. But the pleas fell on deaf ears. Donald was whisked away, the show left in stunned silence.

This blatant invasion outraged ABN director, Mr. Ifeanyi Okali. He condemned the “provocative and overzealous” act, highlighting damaged equipment and a stark violation of police protocol. He further claimed that visiting the Police Commissioner’s office for clarification turned into another ordeal with alleged harassment.

The air now thick with tension, Okali seeks justice. He demands not just answers, but replacement of damaged equipment and a public apology from the Abia State Police Command.
