Seven officers including the Chief of the Army Staff, Lt Gen Ibrahim Attahiru, along with four crew members were killed in Friday’s military plane crash.
The training aircraft was said to have crashed at the runway of the Kaduna international airport.
The incident was said to have occurred at about 6:00 p.m. while it was raining heavily.
The plane was said to have crash-landed on the runway, with the eleven people on board feared dead.
Newsflash Nigeria has also learnt the identities of the persons in board the plane.
It was gathered that the along with the COAS, Lt Gen I Attahiru, others in his entourage were:
BRIG GEN MI ABDULKADIR;
BRIG GEN OLAYINKA;
BRIG GEN KULIYA;
MAJ LA HAYAT;
MAJ HAMZA;
SGT UMAR.
The crew members were:
FLT LT TO ASANIYI;
FLT LT AA OLUFADE;
SGT ADESINA;
ACM OYEDEPO.
He was to attend the graduation ceremony of the Nigerian Army Depot in Zaria tomorrow (Saturday).
The Nigerian Air Force has said it has begun an investigation into the cause of the crash of its NAF aircraft in which the Chief of the Army Staff, Lt Gen Ibrahim Attahiru, his aides and others were travelling and killed on Friday.

Attahiru, who was only appointed alongside the other Service Chiefs on January 26, 2021, died in the crash alongside 11 others on Friday en route to Kaduna State.
The NAF Director of Public Relations and Information, Air Commodore Gabkwet Edward, stated this in a release on Friday.
He said, “An air crash involving a @NigAirForce aircraft occurred this evening near the Kaduna International Airport. The immediate cause of the crash is still being ascertained. More details to follow soon.”
