LG Party Chairman, Ex-council vice chairman, others dump PDP for APC in Ekiti
The prominent leaders of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ikole Ekiti, in Ikole Local government area of Ekiti State have defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Newsflash Nigeria reports that those PDP leaders defected to APC are the loyalists of the Senator representing Ekiti South Senatorial District in the National Assembly, Biodun Olujimi.
Prince Femi Fafure, the Chairman of the Olujimi’s faction in Ikole Local government led his members to APC on Thursday.
The former council Vice Chairman, Ayo Ajibade, was among decamping to APC.
Those who defected include; Femi Ogunleye, Afolabi James Ajila, Sunday Awogbemi and Lewis Alonge.
Speaking to newsmen shortly after their grand reception into APC, held in Ikole council area of the state on Thursday they respectively attributed their decision to the excellent performance of Governor Kayode Fayemi so far in the state.
The former PDP chieftains vowed to support the party achieves its goals and objectives in the state and beyond.

Fafure said, “Seeing the marvelous works Governor Fayemi is doing in the state, I asked all my followers, in fact most these people you see here today are all members of my campaign organization. I have to encourage them to move over to APC because I have decided to do so after speaking with the leaders of the party about it.
“And my mission of joining APC is to be sure that PDP is collapsed in Ekiti, starting. And I am sure it will happen because I have the capacity and the capability.”
Ajibade added, “When you see people like us joining APC, that will tell you that APC has come to stay. We are the people that make things to happen. We are the people that made PDP. So we have come and we have joined APC and we believe on what APC can do.”

Recall that Governor Kayode Fayemi had appointed PDP chieftain, Badejo Anifowose, one of the loyalists of Senator Biodun Olujimi from Moba LG as the Chairman, Ekiti State Environmental Protection Agency (SEMA).
Badejo Anifowose, a former House of Assembly member accepted an appointment from Governor Kayode Fayemi.
The PDP in Ekiti is divided into two, one loyal to ex-governor Ayo Fayose and the other to Biodun Olujimi, the senator representing Ekiti South.
Mr Anifowose was formerly an ally of Mr Fayose but had moved over to join Ms Olujimi.
He was a member of the Ekiti State House of Assembly between 2015 and 2019.
