Lagos 2019: Sanwo-Olu Reacts After Ambode’s Allegations Against Him
The All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship aspirant in Lagos, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, whom was declared unfit to govern the state by governor Akin Ambode, has responded to the scathing allegations made the incumbent leader.
Mr Ambode, who has been in the eye of the storm, stated this while addressing a press conference at Government House, Alausa, Ikeja.
He said the aspirant was arrested for spending fake dollars in the United States and had undergone rehabilitation at Gbagada General Hospital in Lagos.
The governor also appealed to the leadership of the APC in Lagos to act in the interest of the development of Lagos.
Meanwhile, the Lagos state All Progressives Congress (APC) House of Representatives members on Sunday, September 30, endorsed Babajide Sanwo-Olu as its candidate in the party’s governorship primary in the state.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the APC governorship primary in the state is scheduled for Monday, October 1.
The report said that 16 members of the House of Representatives from Lagos, led by Femi Gbajabiamila, were in attendance at a briefing called to endorse the aspirant.
Sanwo-Olu, Ambode’s challenger in the primary, had earlier received endorsement of the party’s Governor’s Advisory Council in the state. He had also been endorsed by 36 of the 40 members of the state House of Assembly.
