Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello, on Wednesday caused gridlock at Gwagwalada, along Abuja-Lokoja road.
Newsflash247 reports that the governor, who is seeking re-election, stopped his convoy at Madam Mercy junction and sprayed money to passersby, causing them to jostle for a catch.
According to report, Bello was on his way to Lokoja from Abuja.
Apparently appealing for a second term in office come November, the governor made the 4+4 sign with his fingers as he sprayed three bundles of N500 notes.
Pedestrians, petty traders, commercial motorcyclists all abandoned their trade as they scrambled to get hold of the money.
It was reported that after Bello threw the money, he also wound down the glass of his side of the vehicle and flashed four fingers on both hands, the symbol of two four-year terms, a trend started by President Muhammadu Buhari when he went to present the 2019 budget at the National Assembly late last year.
He was hailed by some motor park touts at the popular Wazobia Park even as they rushed to grab their share of the money.
Some pedestrians, petty traders and even Okada riders abandoned their motorcycles and scrambled for the money.
Yahaya Bello is seeking a second term in office on the platform of the All Progressives Congress.
The Kogi State governorship election is scheduled to hold on November 16, the Independent National Electoral Commission has announced.
