Kogi Election: Monarch curses politicians says ‘whoever brings violence to my kingdom will die before next year’
Barley few days to the governorship election in Kogi State, the Olumagongo of Magongo land, HRM, Obin Sam Bola Ojo has placed curses on whoever that will bring violence to his kingdom during the exercise.
The Kogi State governorship and National Assembly elections will be held this coming Saturday, November 16.
The Paramount ruler threatened that such persons will die before next year.
The Monarch stated this on Sunday at an election door-to-door sensitization program in Ogori Magongo Local Government which was organized by the Challenge Parenthood Initiative, CPI.
He said the peace of Magongo community remains paramount, stressing that, he won’t sit on the throne and allow selfish politicians bring pains on his people all in the guise of winning election.
OJo who expressed worries that youths are the tools for this condemnable act said whoever that engages in ballot box snatching, intimidations of voters, rigging and other electoral offences will face the consequence of his curse.
His words ” It shall never be well with any individual who brings violence to my kingdom. My people are scared because of the tension in the land. I repeat, who ever that cause violence in Magongo during this election will die before the end of this year. Their families will suffer afflictions for the rest of their lives. It is already stamped, and nothing would change it.
“Once again, let me advise the youths. They must not use their hands to destroy their tomorrow. They should think of a greater tomorrow than the peanuts given them by this set of people giving them guns to harm their fellow brothers and sister.
“We must sacrifice one day for Kogi state. God must intervene in Kogi. We have seen alot of ups and down. Politicians should know that if they use their today to puncture their tomorrow they will also be destroyed.
He admonished the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, and security agencies not to be partisan to avoid military intervention in Kogi State.

Earlier, the Executive Director Challenge Parenthood Initiative, CPI, Eunice Agbogun charged women to shun votes buying and come out to vote for candidates of their choice.
Meanwhile, Newflash247 had earlier reported that ahead of the November 16th Governorship election in Kogi State, the appointees of Governor Yahaya Bello’s government and other All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftains of Igala extraction have presented Rolls Royce Phantom to the traditional ruler, Attah Igala, Dr Michael Ameh-Oboni II.
Igala is the largest ethnic group in Kogi state and represents about 45% of voters in the forthcoming governorship election in the state.
The gift to the well-respected monarch is seen as a strategy to court his support as the APC goes into the election.
The government appointees were led by the newly deputy governor of the state, Chief Edward Onoja , Senator Jibrin Isah Echocho who the two most senior politicians from Kogi East senatorial district of the state where the Igalas occupy.
Other members of the delegation are APC members of the national and
the state assemblies from Kogi East, commissioners and special advisers
from the senatorial district.
Speaking at the presentation yesterday, the Deputy Governor who holds the traditional title of Olimene of Attah said, “HRM Attah Igala as King Of the 9th Largest Ethnic Nationality in Nigeria is the face of the Igala nation and his appearance must show class,royalty and purity.

We give thanks to Governor Yahaya Bello who lifted a lot of progressive minded and passionate leaders in just few years.”
Senator Jibrin Isah in his remark commended the young but vibrant Deputy Governor for believing in the land of his birth and placing the people first.
“A new Igala land has emerged. This is the same way we jointly built The “Unyi Udama Amo ma Igala”( Igala Unity House) under the able leadership of His Excellency, Chief Edward Onoja and we are set to complete two guest houses at Ayingba- Dekina And Ankpa for the exclusive use of our royal father the Attah Igala. We are not Billionaires but united lovers of their kingdom.”
One of the aides of the Attah Igala commended the state governor , for the confidence he has reposed in Chief Edward Onoja, the state deputy governor.
“In fact, Kogi East with has produced great sons like Sen. Ahmadu Ali , Dr Alex Kadiri, Attai Aidoko, Nicholas Ugbane,former Governors Ibrahim Idris and Idris Wada.
But outside, Prince Abubakar Audu of blessed memory, no Igala son has shown love to the Igala nation like this grandson of ours, Edward Onoja has done. We thank His Excellency for believing in him”.
