Kogi 2019: PDP Crack In Kogi Over Governorship Tickets

There are indications that incontrovertible dissention has hits Kogi State Chapter of the People Democratic Party (PDP). The scramble for the governorship ticket of the party in the forthcoming election in the state has cracked the state chapters of the party apart.

In a meeting recently held to reach an agreement for a preferable candidate in the forthcoming election in the state showed that there was attempt to impose a candidate against the wishes of the party members, which was the main cause of the disagreements.

It was, however, learnt that many members of the party have rejected the move and vow to fight against the hideous and inimical plan to a logical conclusion.

In the process of decision-making to seek for widespread agreement amongst the party members and the 77 aspirants jostling for the highest governmental position of the state, sparked up disagreement which erupted like a volcano, when they all observed that Abubakar Idris the son of the former governor of Kogi state candidacy was gaining more recognition and favour from the chieftains of the party.

They disagreed vehemently over his choice to fly the party flag in the state.

However, notable party members loyal to the former governor Ibrahim Idris’s camp attended the meeting to gear their support for the candidacy of his son Abubakar Idris.

According to information from a reliable source revealed that Abubakar Idris maybe favour with the party ticket, but such decision is going to spark an irreconcilable disagreement that would cause uncontrollable discord in the state chapter of PDP.

Apparently, the altercations is already eaten deep into the party and would impose threats on the party success in the forthcoming election in the state.

Currently the yet to be resolved issue of who will fly the party ticket has divided the party into multiple factions of camarilla as I speak.

The source also confided to me, said “what exists in the Kogi state PDP now is the peace of the graveyard” in the next few weaks you will know what is going on.

The source aslo revealed that everything has been done to resolve the issue but to no avail, heightening the fears that the party may not come out of this recent crisis that has engulfed it before the forthcoming election.

A circumstance that forced Senator Dino Melaye to also declared his intention to Contest for the governorship position in the state.
The source further revealed that some party deligates loyal to former governor Idris would be meeting with Sen. Dino Melaye later this week to convince him to accept the slot of the deputy governor. If Dino agrees to their convincement it will be crystal clear that the PDP party ticket for 2019 election in kogi state would be Abubakar Idris /Dino Melaye.

Meanwhile this development does not go well with other PDP governorship candidates who are set to dump the party any moment from now to any party that they can actualize their governorship ambitions.
