Kidnappers storm College of Education Provost’s residence, Kills one

Kidnappers on early hours of Friday, February 7, have stormed the residents of the Provost of Taraba College of Education, Zing in Taraba State in an attempt to kidnap Dr Mike Dio-Jen.

According to the report, one person has been confirmed dead in an attempt to kidnap the Provost.

The incident occurred on Friday at the Provost’s residence at the Green Beach area of Kona ward in Jalingo.

According to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) who reported that, kidnappers fired several gunshots at the gate of the provost’s house and forced their way in.

They, however, met stiff resistance by security operatives, guarding the provost’s house.

The shooting caused the death of the gate man of the house while the assailants fled the area through a nearby river

The remains of the deceased, Shawulu Yeshi, a staff member of the college, have been deposited at the morgue of Federal Medical Centre, in Jalingo.

The Police spokesman in Taraba, ASP David Misal, who confirmed the incident, said the command was investigating the case.
