Jang Reportedly Pays Off Prison Electricity Bill
The former governor of Plateau state and senator representing Plateau North senatorial district, Jonah David Jang, has reportedly paid off the outstanding electricity bills of Jos prison where he has been locked up since Wednesday, May 16.
Jang was remanded in prison after his arraignment at Kogi state high court on May 16 by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission. The senator is facing a twelve count charge over alleged corruption and misappropriation of N6.3 billion during the last leg of his tenure as governor of Plateau state.

Jang allegedly ordered his aides to pay off the prison electricity bills after he arrived there to meet it in total darkness.
Daily Trust reported that the former governor’s media consultant, Clinton Garuba, confirmed paying the electricity bill, adding that Jang had also offered to pay the medical bills of one of the prisoners, who was suffering from a leg disease at the Jos University Teaching Hospital (JUTH)
