INEC Opens Portal For Online Media Accreditation For 2023 General Elections

Ahead of the general elections to hold in February and March 2023, the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has commenced online accreditation for journalists and media organisations wishing to cover the polls.

The Commission made this known in a flyer released on Thursday, noting that the portal will be open for registration on Thursday, 5th January, 2023 and closed on Sunday, 5th February, 2023.

According to the information provided by INEC, interested media organisations wishing to deploy journalists to cover the election are expected to apply via its website.

The statement reads in part, “The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has commenced online accreditation for Journalists and media organisations wishing to cover the 2023 General Election.

“Interested media organisations wishing to deploy Journalists to cover the election are by this notice expected to apply via: https://imap.inecnigeria.org

“Late submission shall not be entertained as the portal will automatically shut down on Sunday. 5th February, 2023 at 5.00pm.”

“Note: There shall be no manual accreditation,” the statement added.
