Ikere Ekiti Stood Agog As Fayose Commission Ado-Ikere Road Dualized, Water-Spin Fountain

As thousands of the second largest city of the Ekiti State, Ikere Ekiti,  trooped out on Saturday, October 14th to witness the commission of Ado-Ikere road dualization and the first Ekiti Water-Spin Fountain by the State Governor, Chief Ayodele Fayose.

The governor, who promised to continue to deliver the true dividends of democracy to the people of the state through the provision of quality infrastructure and social amenities.

The governor made the promise during the commissioning of projects in Ikere Ekiti to mark his 3rd anniversary in office.

The event brought together government officials, party faithful and members of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state and the governor of Gombe State, Ibrahim Hassan Dankwambo were also present in the event.

Some of the projects commissioned were the newly dualized Ikere township road connecting the state capital Ado, to Ikere, a 7-kilometer street lighting facility and a water -spin fountain at roundabout constructed in the heart of the town.

Meanwhile, Mr. Ayodele Fayose has challenged All Progressives Congress, APC in the state to pick its candidate from Ikere-Ekiti to match his sole candidate, Prof. Kolapo Olusola-Eleka.

Fayose said: “Any party that did not pick its candidate from Ikere should forget to win July 14th, 2018 governorship election.

“Ekiti Central has ruled this state for three times (Niyi Adebayo once; I, ‘Fayose’ twice), Ekiti North has ruled for two times, (Segun Oni once, Fayemi Once).

“The only time that Ekiti South ruled this state, was the time of old Ondo State when Evangelist Bamidele Olumilua was a governor.

“The time has come for Ikere to become governor, look at the crowd, see the crowd of the Ikere people, they are thirsty of becoming governor next year, if truly APC loves Ikere, let them pick their candidate from this town, this is the shows of strength.

“I have picked my candidate from Ikere, its remain on Ikere people to decide.

“In terms of voting strength, Ikere is the second highest after Ado-Ekiti”. Fayose said.

Fayose, who described Ikere as his ‘second home’ saying Ikere is the only town in Ekiti that has Afao Community inside it and promise the town to lay the foundation of  Ikere Stadium.

Fayose also dualized some township roads in the state such as; Ijero Township road, Ise Ekiti Township road, Emure Township road and Okemesi road.
