If I Consult Devil, God Should Kill Me Before Sunrise — Pastor Adeboye

Pastor Enoch Adeboye, the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), has once again addressed the speculations that he derives his powers from the devil.

The cleric spoke on Friday night, at the ongoing RCCG 2023 National Convention themed, “Beyond Expectations”, which was held at the Redemption Camp, on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.

The cleric said he had heard rumours that he was in contact with demonic forces and that he had decided to ignore them at first. However, he changed his mind after praying and felt the need to clear his name and not lead anyone astray. He said he wanted to settle the issue once and for all by asking his congregation to pray a daring prayer.

He urged his congregation to pray sincerely and ask God to kill him before sunrise if he had any connection with the forces of darkness.

He said, “So, I just want us to settle that issue today. I want you to say a prayer and please say it with all your heart. I want you to call on God that if Pastor Adeboye is contacting the devil one way or the other, if there are any connections between him and forces of darkness; you are going to call on Almighty God to kill him before the sun rises so that he does not spoil your name. So that he does not lead several innocent people to hell.”

He also added another prayer point, asking his congregation to tell God that if he was using divine powers, they should be increased by sevenfold.

He said, “Then you add to that prayer. Father, but if this boy is using your power and your power alone then multiply that power in sevenfold.

Let’s rise on our feet and pray, ‘If there is any link between Pastor Adeboye and the forces of darkness Father kill him before the sunrises. But if he is using your power alone, then multiply the power sevenfold.’”

This is not the first time that Pastor Adeboye has addressed this issue. In July, he had also mentioned it during his sermon on Sunday, July 16th where he acknowledged hearing allegations about the origin of his power being demonic from a certain unnamed man.

Pastor Adeboye is one of the most respected and influential Christian leaders in Nigeria and beyond. He has been leading RCCG since 1981 and has overseen its growth and expansion across the world. He is known for his humility, generosity, and faithfulness to God’s word. He has also been involved in various humanitarian and social causes, such as education, health, and peace initiatives.

However, he has also faced criticism and opposition from some quarters, especially from those who disagree with his doctrines or practices. Some have accused him of being a false prophet, a money lover, or a cult leader. Some have even claimed that he uses occultic powers or consults with evil spirits.

Pastor Adeboye has always maintained his innocence and integrity in the face of these accusations. He has also urged his followers not to retaliate or argue with his critics, but rather pray for them and bless them. He has also encouraged them to focus on their relationship with God and not be distracted by human opinions.

He has also demonstrated his confidence in God’s power and protection by challenging his critics to pray for his death if they think he is linked to the devil. He has shown that he is not afraid of death or man, but only God who knows his heart and motives.

Pastor Adeboye became the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) in 1981. He was chosen by the founder of the church, Josiah Olufemi Akindayomi, to succeed him after his death in 1980.

Adeboye has led the RCCG for over 40 years and has grown it into one of the largest churches in the world. The church now has over 50,000 branches in over 190 countries. Adeboye is a popular figure in Nigeria and is often referred to as “Daddy GO”. He is known for his fiery sermons and his commitment to spreading the gospel.
