President Buhari on Tuesday, mocks former president, Obasanjo, saying he only wants a second term and no more.
He stated this while addressing traditional rulers in Akure.
The president said in the past, people have sought for more terms in office, contrary to the provisions of the Constitution.
“We have just finished one term and are seeking a second one, and after that, the Constitution doesn’t permit any more.
“There are some who tried looking for more but they did not succeed,” he was quoted as saying in a tweet by Tolu Ogunlesi, who handles Digital Communication for the Presidency.
Obasanjo tried to stay in office beyond his second term in 2007.
A bill was sponsored at the National Assembly to extend term limits by another four years, but the lawmakers did not ratify it.
