I didn’t recognize most of my former ministers – Buhari

President Muhammadu Buhari has stated that he is under tremendous pressure to name ministers for his second term in office.

The president made the disclosure on Thursday night, July 11 while chatting with State House correspondents, after dining with principal officers of the National Assembly.

Newsflash247 reports that the president added that most of the ministers from his first term were unknown to him.

He said the All Progressives Congress (APC) had nominated most of them.

He said: “I am very much aware about it and I am under tremendous pressure on it.

“The last cabinet which I had, most of them, a majority of them I didn’t know.

I had to accept their names and recommendation from the party. I worked with them for three and a half years.”

Meanwhile, Newsflash247 previously reported that Senator Ahmad Lawan, the Senate president, said that the upper legislative chamber would receive the list of ministerial nominees from President Muhammadu Buhari before Friday, July 12.

Lawan said this on Wednesday, July 10, while responding to a point of order raised by the lawmaker representing Akwa Ibom northeast, Senator Albert Bassey Akpan, who expressed worries over the delay in the presentation of the list by the executive to the legislative arm.
