How Tinubu Dumped Maryam Shetty and Left Her Stranded at the Senate: Sparking Outrage
Video showing the moment the All Progressive Congress (APC) chieftain, Maryam Shetty, arrived at the National Assembly for screening, unaware that President Bola Tinubu has replaced her name, has sparked reactions online.
Newsflash Nigeria earlier reported that President Bola Tinubu, on Wednesday, forwarded an additional 19 names of ministerial nominees to complement the previously sent 28-man nominees earlier sent on August 2.
However, in a letter to the Senate on Friday, the president withdrew Shetty’s nomination and replaced her with Maigari Mahmud, who is also from Kano State.
A video sighted online shows the moment Shetty arrived at National Assembly and was turned back over the recent development. The video sparked reactions online, with many describing the development as embarrassing.

What prevents you from simply notifying the individual? What is the point of causing such national embarrassment? What happened to courtesy? Don’t tell me they’ll recompense her with something else. Moral decay in Nigeria is incomprehensible to me, and we seem to accept it as normal.”
