How State Governors Could Avoid Sabotaging Tinubu’s Efforts in Fixing the Economy
In a fervent plea for unity and collaboration, Olatunbosun Oyintiloye, a prominent figure within the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State, is urging state governors and senior civil servants to throw their support behind President Bola Tinubu’s ambitious Renewed Hope Agenda for Nigeria’s economic revival.
Speaking passionately in Osogbo, Oyintiloye emphasized that the success of President Tinubu’s economic initiatives relies heavily on the active involvement of governors and top civil servants, who are the crucial driving forces within the government machinery.
Oyintiloye stressed the imperative role of state governors in utilizing their monthly allocations for poverty alleviation, asserting that their support is pivotal to translating the president’s efforts into tangible benefits for the people. He urged governors, irrespective of political affiliations, to align with the president in addressing the pressing economic challenges faced by the nation.
He stated, “The monthly allocation received by governors is more than sufficient to lift the people out of poverty, complementing the president’s initiatives. It’s crucial that the governors transparently communicate their actions and allocations to the public, ensuring accountability and effective utilization of funds.”
In a direct call to action, Oyintiloye challenged the governors to disclose the amounts they’ve received since June of the previous year, outlining how these funds have been administered for the benefit of the populace. He highlighted the importance of dispelling any perception that governors might be hindering the president’s efforts to alleviate the impact of fuel subsidy removal.
“In this critical juncture, unnecessary bureaucracy within the civil service should be suspended to expedite the president’s initiatives. Any form of sabotage must be eradicated for the welfare of the masses,” emphasized Oyintiloye.
While acknowledging the challenges faced by the nation, Oyintiloye appealed for patience from the public, assuring them that the president’s interventions would lead the country to the desired heights of greatness.
