How Bandits Invaded a Federal University Residence in Katsina and Took Five Female Students Hostage

Five female students of the Federal University, Dutsin-ma (FUDMA) in Katsina State were kidnapped by gunmen suspected to be bandits on Wednesday morning.

The students were taken from their residence behind Mariamoh Ajiri Memorial International School, along Tsaskiya road, around 2:30 am.

The abduction was confirmed by multiple sources, including staff and students from the university, who spoke to Newsflash Nigeria.

They said the bandits came in large numbers, armed with dangerous weapons, and targeted the students’ residence along Tsaskiya road. They then forced the students to go with them.

The Katsina State Police Command also confirmed the incident. The Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Abubakar Sadiq Aliyu, said some suspects had been arrested in connection with the case.

He added that investigation was ongoing to unravel the motive behind the abduction and ensure the safe rescue of the students.
