Oshiomhole escapes death as gunmen invade his house

Adams Oshiomhole, the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress,APC, has escaped death on Saturday in Benin, Edo State as unknown gunmen reportedly attacked his residence.

Oshiomhole, former governor of the state accused the ‘other camp’ that organised the attack on his home of looking for war .

The former Edo governor said the attack on his home was uncalled for but he was ready to defend his own camp. The home of Adams Oshiomhole, the national chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), was attacked by suspected hoodlums late on Saturday, October 12.

The attackers reportedly besieged the house at Okorotun Street in the Government Reservation Area, Benin but were repelled by security agents and some APC youths.

This much was confirmed by Oshiomhole’s spokesperson, Simon Egbebulam. Egbebulam said Oshiomhole was not at home when the attack happened because he was at a friend’s party.

He claimed the attack was organized by the Godwin Obaseki-led state government and it was carried out by those loyal to the governor.

Oshiomhole, a two-time governor of Edo state and former chairman of the Nigeria Labour Congress, was furious at the incident. He says the attack on his residence is a declaration of war by the ‘other camp’.
