Gunmen Shot Rev. Father Dead In A Supermarket In Abuja

A priest in Abuja, Rev. Fr. Michael Akawu was shot dead in Abuja on Saturday by robbers while shopping in a supermarket.

Father Michael Akawu, the first indigene of Abuja to be ordained for Abuja Archdiocese, was shot dead at a supermarket in Gwagwalada on Saturday, where he had gone to shop.

Akawu was ordained a priest on February 4th, 2017 by the Archbishop of Abuja, the Most Revd. John Cardinal Onayeikan.

Meanwhile, the FCT Police Command on Sunday night confirmed the killing of a Catholic Priest on Saturday in Gwagwalada area of Abuja.

DSP Ajuguri Manzah, the spokesman of the FCP Police Command who confirming the news of the killing to Newsflash247, said the police has commenced investigations into the incident.

He said the FCT Police Commissioner, CP Ciroma has order detectives to move to Gwagwalada to unearth the immediate and remote causes of the incident.
