Residents of Ekiti are calling on the government to step up security in the state due to the incessant killings.
being the killing of an accountant who worked at Emure by unknown gunmen. He was said to have been trailed and close range by the armed men alleged to be robbers on Wednesday, January 2, along Ogbese – Ikere road of the state.
The corpse of the deceased has been evacuated and deposited at the mortuary.
This is coming just few days after gunmen shot dead 37-year-old councilor representing Ado Ward 9 at Ado Local Government Council in Ekiti, Deji Akeredolu.
Akeredolu was on his way home at the Onala area of Ado Ekiti, the Ekiti State capital, when the incident happened.
Akeredolu and his wife were said to have alighted from a motorbike at the junction to their house at about 10pm when the gunmen struck and fired shots at him from the back.
