Unknown gunmen have kidnapped eight workers working with the West African Ceramic company, Ajaokuta in Kogi State.
It was gathered that the incident happened in the early hours of Wednesday in Emiworo, under Ajaokuta Local Government Area of the State.
It was learnt that the workers were abducted while loading stones which is expected to be delivered to the ceramic site located in Itobe.
The suspected criminals, who were fully armed, according to sources, whisked away their victims to an unknown destination.
The wife of one of the victims, Mrs Shaibu, said his husband, Hassan Shaibu, was among eight persons who were kidnapped.
She said, “Yes, my husband was among those ceramic workers kidnapped in Emiworo. We are yet to hear anything from their abductors. As I speak to you, I am confused and I don’t know where to go from here”.

The Police Public Relations Officer in Kogi State, DSP William Ovye Aya confirmed the incident to newsmen on Wednesday evening.
Aya, however, said six mining workers of West African Ceramic were kidnapped.
According to him, the Police in collaboration with sister security agencies had combed the bushes to ensure that the abducted miners regained freedom from their abductors.
