Gunmen kidnap 18 passengers bus in Ondo

A commercial bus with 18 passengers heading to Lagos have been kidnapped by unknown gunmen suspected to be bandits in Ondo State.

It was gathered that the incident occurred on Wednesday evening along Ido Ani-Ifira Akoko Expressway in Akoko South Local Government Area of Ondo State.

It was gathered that the bus was heading towards Abuja from Lagos State when it was attacked.

They were said to have been marched into a forest after their attackers ordered them out of the vehicle at gunpoint.

The incident reportedly occurred on a failed section of the major road.

The Divisional Police Officer in charge of Isua Akoko Police Division, Mr Hakeem Sadiq, confirmed the incident.

He said the case was reported, adding that the anti-kidnapping unit of the division and other security agencies are working hard to rescue the travellers.
