Gunmen attack Bullion van in Ondo, three police officers injured
Unknown gunmen suspected to be Armed robbers have attacked a bullion van conveying cash to Akure, the Ondo state capital, injuring three policemen.
It was gathered that the incident occurred on Thursday evening in Ondo town, headquarters of Ondo West Local Government Area of the state.
The attack, which was foiled by security operatives.
Newsflash Nigeria understands that after the failed attempt, security operatives were stationed in different locations in the community, causing panic among residents.
“The robbers didn’t succeed, the driver of the bullion van and the police team was alerted of the danger ahead, which made them to make a detour immediately.

“The robbers however gave them a hot chase and started shooting at them,” a resident said.
The resident added that the injured policemen have been taken to the hospital for medical attention.
The incident was the second attack in the last two weeks in Ondo state.
Gunmen had on July 15 attacked a bank in Ilaramokin, Ifedore LGA of the state, killing three persons including a journalist, Bunmi Afuye.
