Unknown gunmen have kidnapped a farmer identified as Adewumi Babatunde in Omu-Ekiti in the Oye Local government area of the state.
Newsflash Nigeria gathered the incident occurred on Sunday evening along the Omu and Ayede-Ekiti road.
According to the report, Adewumi Babatunde was kidnapped on his way from his farm between Omu-Ekiti and Ayede-Ekiti.
The wife of the victim, Mrs. Bosede Babatunde said the kidnappers had contacted the family and demanded for three million naira ransom.

Meanwhile, the Owajumu of Omu-Ekiti, Oba Adeyeye Ogundeyi, lamented the incessant kidnapping of indigenes especially farmers in the area and urged the government to provide watertight security in Omu-Ijelu-Ayede Road.
The Ekiti State Police Public Relations Officer, Mr. Sunday Abutu said he had not been briefed on the matter and promised to investigate.
